Woman With The Silver Tinted Hair

You so young and beautiful and

too young for me

but I sit here anyway, admiring

your youthful vibrant face

so full of vitality and grace

with your oblong gold earrings

hanging down.

I sit here feeling age creeping up

on me, wanting to reach out

to someone like you

with your tinted silver hair

trying to look older but

yet so young, the one

I will never be with

and will never know

someone like you to

grab unto and hold,

someone to experience

that last bit of youth with

before it’s gone.
